Angels And Airwaves è un progetto partito da Tom Delonge, chitarrista dei Blink-182, con la collaborazione del chitarrista David Kennedy, l'ex bassista dei Distillers Ryan Sinn e il batterista degli Offspring Adam "Atom" Willard. Il 24 giugno Tom registra il marchio Angels And Airwaves.

A pari passo con la registrazione del disco è stato girato un film ambientato nella seconda guerra mondiale che avrà come colonna sonora l'album degli AvA, il film sarà per un terzo un documentario, un altro terzo una storia d'amore e il restante terzo sarà in CGI (animazione a computer), Tom dice del film: "It's the story of the album, which is the story of the break-up of one of the biggest bands in the world and the creation of the world's greatest band.". Tra gli attori sarà presente Michael Ostman che interpreterà la parte di soldato e di uomo d'affari; il film sarà prodotto dalla Resting Bird Entertainment, il regista è Mark Eaton. Il film sarà simile a The Wall dei Pink Floyd.
